The Inaugural Competition
In 2015, Faisal Almogren (GSD ‘16), Marcus Goodwin (GSD ‘16), Chris Lawlor (HBS ‘16), Kunal Lunawat (HBS ‘15), Lauren McClellan (GSD ‘16), Brynne McNulty (HBS ‘16), and Anthony Stahl (GSD ‘16) established Harvard's inaugural Real Estate Venture Competition (“REVC”). The Harvard REVC was born out of a shared interest among the seven to build something that would highlight the important development in the growing interaction between real estate and technology.

2019 Winner - Astorian
Team: Victor Hunt and Aaron Resnick
Description: Astorian is creating a holistic marketplace that automates procurement for building repairs and improvements. After growing up homeless, CEO Victor Hunt made it his mission to improve housing quality. This led him into property management, where he acquired immense first-hand experience on the costly and time-consuming process of working with contractors. Astorian automates procurement, saving buildings 80% on procurement time and 20% on costs. The company has facilitated over $6 million in repair transactions in the past six months.
2018 Winner - Better Spaces
Team: Keith Angell, Bukky Awosogba, and Stephen Rizzo
Description: Better Spaces creates and operates amenity spaces within office buildings. Using technology and modular space set-up, the firm converts existing spaces into the type of flexible and creative offices very much in demand today.
2017 Winner - Lock.in
Founder: Xavier de Gracia
Description: Lock.in is a company that provides new insurance products to small landlords that covers rent in case of tenant default.
2016 Winner - RateGravity
Team: Patrick Boyaggi
Description: RateGravity is redefining how consumers finance their home by eliminating the salesperson and using technology to compare, choose and close with local lenders, saving tens of thousands of dollars in interest.
2015 Winner - Qasa
Team: Fredrik Stromsten
Description: Qasa is a smart marketplace and property rental management tool for long term housing rentals.
